I have tried but this option is Grayed out and will not function. I also tried Jpeg files with no luck. Is it even possible to attach to Contacts?

I've had no trouble at all doing this. Here's how I did it with jpegs that I copied over to the phone from my PC. Note that the jpegs were resized on the PC to fit the MPx's screen better.

1. Start - Photo Album
2. Highlight the thumbnail that you want to attach to a contact.
3. Menu - Attach to Contact (at the bottom of the list and not numbered).
4. Highlight the name from the list.
5. Attach.

Done.

Note, you cannot do this operation from the Photo Contact app when you're looking at the full-sized image; it must be done from the thumbnail view.

Thanks but I have tried that. "attach to Contact" is greyed out in my list and does not offer any options.

Hey dura ace,
Make sure that your contacts are in the phone's memory and not on the SIM.

I'm not sure if there is a way to copy contacts from SIM to Outlook, then sync back to the phone memory.

There is no way to transfer SIM contacts to contacts and vice versa except one by one. Are you using a s/w version 1.30 phone?

I saw it greyed out too. My documents/my images does not let you do it. I changed the root directory (change folder) from the original photo album to where I have my walpapers /storage/application data/home and tried to attached those images. All of the sudden I had attach to contacts option available. IT WORKS from that directory! Weird

The way to show your sim contacts on your phone is go to settings>phone>call options and check show sim contacts

I took a pic of my girlfriend, then set the pic to "attach to contact," but then I used her phone to call my cell and her name and number popped up, but the pic never did.

Why isn't it working for the outside window? I took the pic on the highest resolution setting; does it have to be on a lower resolution to work?

Oh, one more detail. I attached it to numbers on the phone, none have been programmed onto the SIM card. Do the pics have to be attached to a sim stored contact?

I am having the same problem. I did the "attach to contact" thing but that doesn't do anything for me. When the number calls, no picture displays (on either display).

Thinking as black16 did that it might be a resolution problem, I've been experimenting with different resolutions, but that didn't have any effect.

So, any idea how to get the picture to actually display?

Thanks,
Jon

I don't know if this remedied the problem, but: I tried putting a contact on the SIM card. I noticed the other day when she called, her pic showed up on the outside window, but that was the only contact I added to the SIM card so far. The others with photos attached haven't called me yet to see if its working.

This sucks if they have to be on SIM card, because it doesn't give you the option for multiple number entries for one contact as the phone does.

I've been experimenting.

First I was trying different sizes for the images. Since the outide display is 96 x 64 pixels, I first tried images that side. No dice--nothing displayed.

Then I tried larger images, along the lines of 300 x 200 pixels. Those would display on the inside, but still nothing on the outside.

I also found that I needed to "reboot" the phone (by turning it off and back on) after associating the pictures with the contacts to get them to display at all on the inside when an inbound call is received.

I did manage to get static background images to display on the outside screen. A couple of observations. If the image isn't the full 96 x 64, the default image is still visible underneath the custom image. Also, you ...

Please help attach my photos to my contacts. I went through the process of going to my photo album and attaching the picture to the contact. Still, when a contact calls, I only see their number, name, and a generic blue human icon. Please help me with this issue.... 😢
