Motorola MPx220

Mpx220 unlocked

Are the Mpx220 unlocked. I've heard conflicting reports. Also the volume issue, can that be solved by just removing the plastic piece coving the ear piece?? I don't have the phone so I don't know? anyone?

firstly the best buy phones are branded cingular, but unlocked...the phones from cingular will most definatly be locked ..and about the volume issuebeing solved by removing a plastic peice...dunno, but i find it hard to beleive that it is that easy of a fix, ive also read that putting hte phone out OUTDOOR would help volume as well...take it for what you will

They'll be unlocked when Cingular sells them, just like the V400 and V600 (for the short time it was out). I've heard the V220 and V180 are also unlocked. I'm guessing most, if not all, of their current phones are not sim-locked.

Don't know why, just know they are.
