Get phone in West coast and use in east coast
Is this possible:
Ask my friend to buy the phone in Cali Best Buy with Cingular 2 year service to take advantage of the discount, then use it here in the east coast?
I think it's possible, but not sure if that person needs to be there for signatures and stuff.
Anyone know?

and to your question.. you can get the phone in cali and have it sent to wherever you are.. cingular tells me it will still work no issue.. but from what i understand u do need a sim card from where u are living.. there is a new sim i heard something about called 65k smart chip or something and from what i hear it makes your phone think it's in it's home area regardless of where you are.. 👿

u would still i think need a contract in your home state though i would think.. ive never been asked for id when getting a phone at Best Buy so there for have your boy buy it with cash and i would think u would be set.. with that new sim i dont think it would matter where your home service is/ was
