Is T-mobile or AT&T going to get this cool phone?

It would be really cool if Sprint gets this phone.

Sprint is a CDMA provider - this is a GSM phone.

But this is a GSM phone, and Sprint is CDMA. So, unless they make a CDMA version of this phone, I assume this phone will go to AT&T, T-mobile or Cingular since those are the GSM carriers. But, maybe they will do that. They have made phones for both types of carriers before, like the Palm One Treo 600.

it's got to be cingular or att because tmobile does not usually have a gsm 800 band on their phones...only cingular or att have that - usually-

If it's Cingular or AT&T, I got to get this phone unlock then. I just got T-Mobile recently. 🙂

I work for Cingular and our Motorola rep came in and showed us the phone. It should be out in late July or August on Cingular. The Mpx 220 is also being released in late August so you might want to wait for that phone, its a little bigger but should be quad band and im not sute what extra features it would have. It's the succesor to AT&T's mpx 200. The Motorola mpx 300 i have seen on websites as a pda phone at conventions which might not ever be picked up by the US market.

I am figuring around 399 retail straight out. I bet the pricing will be similar to the v600 wen it was first released. On Cingular with a 2 year new activation it would most likely be 299......this is all a guesstimate based on a pattern of pricing of Motorola's top phones when they come out....I really don't think it wold be realistically anymore than 299 with activation on a 2 year....I mean that would be too expensive to be reasonable.

I have T-Mobile as my Cell service provider, if T-Mobile doesn't offer the phone, can I still use this phone with their service?

I realize that you have to get an "unlocked" phone, but I don't really know what that means.

How does one get a phone unlocked? etc..

Yeah me too. I got T-mobile. I'm trying to see which would be better, this or Sendo X. Anyways, unlocking is when you let the phone work for any carrier that was the same network, you know: GSM. Anyways, just ask for more stuff. I'll give you a quick low don, not the smart ass one. 😁 😁 😁

Most Likely it will be AT&T/Cingular. The merger is due to complete end of third quarter (for you non MBA's out there that means end of September)

It'll probably be ATTW or Cingular since they offer the 850 MHz band.

To each its own. T Mo just can't compete to provide service in major areas. I can understand if I was in the boonies, but not major metropolitan areas.

I don't actually agree with you there.. I live in a major metropolitan area and TMobile is a better service that AT&T by a long shot.

Maybe T Mo has its picks because service sucks in Philly and NJ.

Service sucks in DC as well. I hated going there for my job because I never had phone service with T Mo and when I did the signal was weak.

I'm not sure that any one of the carriers have gotten it right in all cities. I was a sprint customer for a while, ugh.. I was a AT&T customer for a while.. double ugh.. My girlfriend is a Verizon customer and that seems to work okay here. I'm a TMobile customer and it works well.

In all fairness to AT&T when I had it, it wasn't terrible, but I did have some serious signal loss around town. It also seemed to have serious issues with moving from one cell to another. But mostly their customer service sucked, which is why I ultimately changed services.
