Verizon store purchase?

So in re-reading the settlement letter, the 1) bullet point says "You must purchase your new phone and accessories at the special website created exclusively for memboers of this settlement who selected this option.." (I opted for the exchange and keep my service.) But when I go to the v710exchange webpage, at the bottom it says "Certain phones may only be available by visiting your nearest Verizon Wireless retail store. "

So can I do either? Has anyone purchased their new phone at a brick and mortar store rather than online? I like the idea of the 15-day exchange and that'd be much easier at a physical store.

I bought all my stuff in the store. I think if you buy it in the store you have to include the receipts for everything that you purchase. With Verizon Online taking up to a week to process orders it's definitely more convenient to go in the store and do it.

I'm guessing you haven't received any settlement check yet though. I'm a bit concerned because the form doesn't include any place to show the new purchase, only the v710 and accessories with their associated checkboxes for proof of purchase included.

Hmmm. I wish the two didn't contradict each other.

Yes, you can...as long as you include the receipt of the purchase in the packet. It also states this at the bottom of the exchange website.

I did the same thing and got the exact verbiage written at the bottom of the v710exchange page.

"IMPORTANT: To receive your refund, receipts for your new phone plus any accessories MUST be returned in the same package with your V710 phone (including any receipts for your V710 phone and accessories). Failure to include a receipt for your new phone and any accessories will delay your refund."

I assume that means you can go through a store. Not sure what activation fees are applied in the store. The webpage touts no activation fee when ordering through them.

here is the answer I got

The answer we gave you is based on the information provided to you by Verizon on the exchange website. The website states that if the phone you wish to purchase is not available you may purchase the phone through My Account or through a Verizon Wireless retail store. This is the information we have.

Thank You,
Settlement Administrator
