If you're a PC user then using Itunes may be sacrilegious. If by chance you have a newer Creative sound card on your computer you can use the wavestudio program, accessible from the Creative Mediasource Go! launcher, to chop edit and convert files. You can work with wav's, mp3's, or raw's(?). Picking a lower mp3 bitrate to save the file in will drastically cut the file size and since it is only a cell phone speaker playing the ringtone I doubt you would benefit from a higher bitrate.
