I have a family plan, 2 phones, a v710 and a Samsung started Aug 12 2004 The store rep I visited today told me my 710 is the primary line that's the one which can be used for the NE2 discount.

I was hoping to use the Ne2 to replace my wife's Samsung, and use the v710 exchange to take care of my phone. It seems that it can only be used one way on the other.

Does anyone have a strategy to get out of this pickle? I am thinking I should change my plan, make the Samsung the primary, then do the NE2 on the Samsung ,so I can save the v71O for the exchange.

Will this violate any rules or screw up the NE2?

Should I plan in buying a ebay v710 so I have one to turn in w/ my receipts? Does it matter the v 710 returned w/ receipts is the...

you do not have to turn over the phone to do the ne2. it is based on the account not the phone. the problem is you must relinquish 710 now for settlement. tell them you want to swap the phones between the two lines -- they have done this in the past. put the 710 on wife's line. put samsung on your primary line. send in 710 for new phone on 2nd line. then when ne2 comes due send in samsung for new phone for that one. you could then swap them back. there is no ne2 available for secondary lines on family plan. they MAY agree to do this. yo are free to swap phones that you buy into the line.

That sounds like good news, if I don't need to turn in the phone for the NE2, then it sounds like a matter of timing...

NE2 can be used after June 12, however v710 must be returned by June 6 (or is it June 18th for everyone? Big difference in this case...)

It sounds like the trick is getting the NE2 primary line swapped to the other phone, which the 1st store rep I spoke to would not do.

Are there any good arguments for switching the primary line on an account?

Thanks!

You may not be able to swap which phone number is primary, buy you should be able to swap the phones around on the lines.
