My 2 year contract with Verizon ends on April 17. When I signed I purchased the V710 and some accessories. I will recieve $400 back from my v710 settlement. My plan is to mail my v710 back on May 29. Then on June 1st renew my contract get the $100 new every 2 year discount and purchase the Motorola Q or the LG v9800. My question is will my plan work, or must I purchase a phone from the settlement website?

Thanks
If it helps I picked option 2 on settlement.

You will not receive $400 in cash back from the settlement. You get a credit which you can use for a new phone and accessories or you could just load up on accessories. You could do this without picking a plan, so that your contract is not extended. The one drawback is that you will have your NE2 reset if you buy a phone from the website. I am not sure what happens if you just buy accessories. I would use my NE2 first. Renew your contract and buy a phone, then send the V710 back in for the credit toward accessories. I am sure you also realize that if you don't use part of the credit, it is lost. You only get a refund check for what you spend, up to the limit of the credit you get on the V710.

Thanks for the reply.

That is an excellent idea. Now I just have to find $400 worth of accessories.

I just noticed in your original post that you said:
"If it helps I picked option 2 on settlement."
Does this mean you opted to cancel your service with Verizon or did you actually pick option C, which says you want to turn in your phone, but stay with Verizon???
If you are leaving Verizon, you will get the money back and that is the end of it. No need to try and buy anything from the exchange site.

I went to check on the exchange website whether it was possible. Verizon makes you select a cell phone first. The only accessories initally available are Wifi cards, and I would only need one. 😕

You can also get accessories at a Verizon store or online at the normal Verizon site. Just remember to send in the receipts with the V710.
It might be pretty hard to spend $400 on just accessories. I guess you could get a lot of stuff and sell what you don't want on ebay. You could also get a second phone and then sell it after you activate it for 30 days. Another idea that I have heard might work is to use your NE2 and a 2 yr. contract to get a phone with your normal renewal of contract. Do this first. Then you go online to the exchange site and get a second phone on a 1 yr. contract. From what I have been reading, the 1 yr. contract will reset your 2 yr. contract down to 1 yr. (disclaimer: I have read this will work but you need to check ...

Ok what about this:

I will purchase a Motorola Q from my Verizon store and get the NE2 discount, making the price $199. Then I will return my v710. I will order $400 worth of bogus (wi-fi cards) accessories from the v710 exchange site. Once I receive the accessories. I will return the bogus accessories for cash at a Verizon store. Then I will use the $400 in cash and buy accessories for the Motorola Q at a Verizon store. That would be so awesome if that worked.

Another question do I have to have a data plan with the Q? I would like to have a regular America's Choice plan with pay as you go data.

Thanks

If I'm reading this excerp below correctly. If I buy the Q and some accessoires in store and get my NE2 discount. I can still mail the Motorola Q receipts with my v710 and receive a $400 refund.
