Hello. I am brand new to the forum.
I just got a new Motorola V220 from Cingular. I like the phone but the volume seems very low even when it is set on the highest setting. I took it back and compared it to the new Samsung X427M and the Samsung was much better. I checked my old Star Tac and it was much better. I am afraid it I have to use this phone in a somewhat noisy environment that I would not be able to hear at all. Has anyone else had a problem with this?
Thanks.
Mike.

That's just the way the phone is made...unfortunately, a lot of the new motorola models are like this.

Although I'm not going to recommend it, I had the same problem, and carefully used an exacto knife to open up the center area at the top where the speaker is located. I've had many motorola phones and none are as low in volume as this one. This made a significant difference, although you still have to get that opening at exactly the right place on your ear to hear well. My hearing is not too bad, but 30 years of rock and roll, have left it less than perfect. The phone doesn't look perfect, but not too bad, and you really aren't going to notice it much, but be careful.
