How do I adjust # of rings before answering?

My phone only rings twice, not allowing much of a chance to get to the phone and answer it. I've looked at the manual and don't seem to be able to find instructions on how to adjust the number of rings. Anyone know how to do this? Is it even possible?

Thanks so much! 🙂

You may have a bad phone. Let one of the Verizon stores check it out. The number of rings is set by the Verizon service and not by the phone.

Why should he have a VZW store check it out??? This is a GSM phone. It came from either Cingular or ATTWS. This means that VZW didn't set anything.

He should call customer svc (611) and let them know what is happening. They can probably do something to fix it.

How To Change The Number of Rings to Voicemail

First, you need to know what your voice mail number is. Go to Message > Menu Button > Voicemail Setup and you'll see your voicemail number.

An alternative way to find your voicemail number is to go to Settings > Call Forward > Forward Status > Voice Calls, the "Forward if Unavailable" number is your voice mail number.

Once you know your voicemail number, here's what you do: Go b...
