Does anyone know how to delete the factory ringtones and pictures and demo games on a motorola v220. I would much rather have my own media then just having the factory media take up space. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to delete the factory installed ringtones/graphics. I've had my v220 since mid-October, & have discovered that this is one of the few downsides to the phone. As others have already mentioned, however, (fortunately) you can delete the games.

Actually, you can delete just about everything on the phone, thus trashing it as some have done. You just need the right software and a mini usb cable (ones that come with digital cameras or flash card readers).

In order to delete the factory media, you need either p2kman or p2ktools. You can find them for free on the net somewhere. For how-tos on doing everything, you can go to mobiledia.com and check the motorola boards. There are how-to guides and stuff there. Howardforums.com is also a good source for technical information about customizing your phone.

One more thing, b4 you start to delete, remember to back up whatever it is that you plan to delete! Because you may be deleting something that the phone needs to function. ...

I forgot to say that it is of the utmost importance that people who want to use p2kman to customize their phones, read up on the troubles with using p2kman to customize your phone. Cause you can turn your phone into a paperweight if you do something wrong.

I would suggest changing the attributes of the sounds and graphics you want to delete and then deleting them manually off your phone. This is the safest way. Again, BACKUP! Backup the data you want to delete, just in case your phone malfunctinos so you can revert it back to the normal condition.

For ringtones, I suggest using mobile phone tools to do it. There is a process that you have to go through with p2kman that has caused a lot of headaches for fellow V-series phone ow...

Hi!
I am embarrassed to say that, 4 days ago, within minutes of receiving my new Motorola v220 I deleted the "java applications". I am now unable to download any games but can still receive messages. I have been surfing around looking for how to reinstall the program. Does anyone know how I go about getting my phone back to its original state??
My service provider directed me to Motorola and Motorola directed me to a service center (over an hour away).
Is this problem that I have created rectifiable??
Please help...I am going mad!
Thank you in advance
