Has anyone tried the Motorola Mobile phonetools on their V180? If so does it work?
Any difficulties with uploading?

I've emailed Motorola regarding this question. The product doesn't list supporting the V180 phone. I'd like to know also. My wife currently has it and I was considering the same if it can do what I want it to do. I'm used to my Visor Phone when Handspring still supported it. I'm just dragging through the various cell phones until I can find one that works for me. I'm also told that you can buy an attachment to the V180 that will utilize Blue-tooth. I'd like to here the truth on that as well. Sorry for the rant.

yes mobile phone tools does work for the v180. I'm actually using it right now! oh, and yes it works flawlessly.

buy a mini usb cable from ebay. Then, download the software here http://coma.fsb.hr/motorola/files/
Index of /motorola/files .

there was a site with all the software and instructions, but it has since vanished. 👿 I will post the the site when it's back up.

Forsaken242,
Thank you so much for the link. I downloaded the files and the mobile tools work! But another problem I have is how to use the V180 to dial up to some ISP for internet access from a PC/laptop? Using the mobile tool to dial is like a usual phone dial; using the dial up network connection established on XP, the dialing got no response immediately when dialed. I am very sure that the phone number of ISP is correct, because I tested with another Sony Ericsson phone using the Infrared Connection and successfully dialed to the ISP. But how to use the V180 to dial to an ISP?
Thanks,
Alex

I went to the web site you referenced above, but I do not know which file (link) do download. Can you tell me?

Motorola_MobilePhoneTools_1.23c_EN.zip

then go to : http://bongowireless.com/file_download.php

get: P2K Drivers for XP/ME/2000

before you install phone tools, plug in your phone, point windows to the P2K driver. unplug your phone, THEN install phone tools. follow the install directions.

it will not recognize your v180 until you run "Live update" from the menu.

I don't know where to run "Live Update." Which menu are you talking about?

Thank you for the help.
