connecting to pc

HURST

Jan 17, 2005, 3:20 PM
hi there.
I got my v180 2 days ago, I really liked the phone...yesterday I wanted to tweak it, so I downloaded MPT and bought the USB cable, but the software didn't recognized my phone. first I thought it was a problem with the cable, but I searched on the internet and found out I wasn't the only one with this problem. I couldn't do anything, it's like connection was never made. so, i tried some "solutions" but none of them worked. then I downloaded p2k, but it didn't worked either. I just can't get the drivers to work. can someone please help me. where do I find the right drivers? how do I install them? how do I get to upload pics and mp3s to my phone?? if someone can tell my I'd appreciate it
thanks

I heard that the is an folder on the CD that has the correct driver for the v180. You will need the driver for the phone in order for it to work correctly.

Hope this helps.

I had the same problem. To finally get the connection working, besides trying first with MPT, I installed P2K in a corrsponding folder. Then, without running any phone program, I just plugged the phone to the PC (Windows 98, and later on W XP and W 2000). The OS recognizes "New Device" and tries to install it´s corresponding drivers. In here, I choose to inform where the drivers were, pointing to the folder where P2K installed them. From then on, it is working with all phone programs (MotoKit, MPT, P2kMan, etc.). I believe the drivers that came with P2K are more reliable...

Hope it helps.

I managed to find a driver here:

Windows XP hardware installation accepted the driver. Now how can I use this to install Java programs?
