Desktop Charger
I asked this before with no replies. Thought I would try one more time. Does anyone know if there is a desktop charger in the works for the VX7000? 😁

there cant be one, because the battery does not have the copper plates to charge the battery like the vx6000 does, unless they change the battery design

Not true. A desktop charger would use the multi-pin connector at the bottom of the phone that also provides data connections. In fact, the car/travel chargers sold in the "essentials kit" for the phone use the multi-pin connector instead of the narrow plug that the supplied AC charger uses.

Yes thats true. But LG has never made there desktop charger like that. If they provide a desktop then the battery needs to be changed to have those copper plates on it. I was very surprised for LG to switch the style from the vx6000.

Just got back from LG land (otherwise known as Korea). Most of the mobile phone geeks were very interested to look at the 7000. Interestingly enough, the charger issue applies to Korea as well - they use desktop chargers or cables that go into the dataport. They've never seen the type of charger that is provided for the 7000. I wanted a car charger but just couldn't find one. I had one guy try a data cable that was also a charger with the my 7000 and the phone indicated "Incompatible Charger"!
I did purchase a genuine LG data cable that I will try on the phone when I d/l bitpim software. It fit perfectly and works with all the Korean versions of LG phones.

When I upgraded to my vx7000 at the verizon corporate store on Saturday I received a bundle that was required to recieve a MIR. The bundle was the leather case, a 2 headset pack and a car charger. The car charger is labelled for the vx3200, but also says vx7000 and vx8000 on the front. So the 3200 car chargers should work, not sure if theres a desktop charger for the 3200 that would work.
