unlock vx7000

I locked my VX7000, but know I have no idea what the lock code is, the manual states that is is 0000 by default. after punching these numbers in, it didnt unlock it. How can I unlock it?

The default passcode is the last 4 digits of your telephone number.

If it got changed somehow, you should still be able to dial *228, even though it's locked, which will reprogram the phone and reset the lock code to the last 4 digits of your number.
