'1X' or 'D' at the top????

my old verizon phone showed "D" for digital almost all the time. My VX7000 always shows "1X" at the top instead. Is it just me?

The 1X is the same thing, it is just the new way to say the D.

i belive 1x is cdma2000(newer tech) and D is cmdaOne, the older technology....
