I got my g51 4 weeks ago. I've been with
t-mobile for 7months now an the phone they sold me fell in water and I had and have no Insurance on my phone. Thats when I found out that the g51 would work with any GSM service provider. Anyway I got it and all I had to do was Use my old SIM Card in my new phone. As soon as I put it in the T-Mobile logo came on the screen and it worked and has been working Great!!
Also Note,
I went to at&t and got new service last Friday. I could not use the phone to get service when I asked in the store, but all I did was get the cheapest, zero-dollars-out-my-pocket-phone(the Free phone with new Service type). Then as soon as I got in my car I put the SIM card into my g51u and service was active.
So to put it sort terms Cigular, At&t,and T-Mobile SIM's will work in the G51.
