KNOX users beware

by jaredberrett    Oct 10, 2013, 7:32 AM

I just finished speaking with Samsung and wanted to let everyone know a few things about the Knox security system on the Note 3.

First of all, you cannot undo it once it is enabled. So just know before you enter the Knox waters that once in... you're going to keep it on your phone. No big deal if you use or do not use it though.

Second, it is not possible to cut, copy, or paste any information into or from this software. I was trying to copy or cut some work information from my SD card (from my Galaxy S III) which is now in the SD folder into the Knox folder. Not happening. I'll have to create that folder from scratch if I want it secured within the program.

Third, you cannot use any information contained on your Note 3 in the Knox software with any computer (remote access) and you cannot move any information to another device as I suggested the usual upgrade of hardware in the future and was told the data stored on your device cannot be moved anywhere anyway.

So with all of this said, I hope it helps others understand using this security (OS?) and that it is stand-alone to your particular device permanently.

Regards,

JB
