Was there ever an explanation as to why Cingular released on a small amount of A630 phones and with NO fanfare? Also why did they cancel on it? Was it a contract problem? I'd love to know why...

I'd love to know that too. I checked CSP and it says the phone was released in Jan. I think the reason for this is the Cingular is pushing the damn-ugly-ass RAZR. I beleive the prices conflict

Due to the security issues that T-Mobile was having we decided not to carry it. T-Mobile since then has fixed that problem.

If this is true. Why is it still showing as "tentative" for cingular then?

No more. Even T-Mobile discontinued the phone. I know some people may have liked the phone but it didn't even survive for a year. Sounds like there have been problems with it. I guess cingular did the right thing by not carrying it.

T-mobile was getting a lot of returns for this phone, it might have given some problems, but most of the times it has a lot to do with the person who carries it. Im a t-mobile rep. and i have no problems with mine, everyone knows that it has a slight delay, but other than that i havent had any problems with it. If you drop your phone 20 times a day it is only fair you have problems with watever handset you own. One not-so-bad fall could damage the reception of your handset up to 70% per cent. Lets start buying cases guys... 15 bucks could save you 200...
