Too little, too late

I have been waiting for this phone for months and have seen the release date given then retracted multiple times. I finally broke down and bought the Audiovox SMT5600 instead and I couldn't be happier. This phone offers so much more than the A630. I've got a 512MB MiniSD card in it right now and it plays music and videos flawlessly with a screen that's twice as big as the A630, and the phones are about the same size. I played with the A630 for about an hour at the T-Mobile store, and the SMT5600 offers SO MUCH MORE than A630. The ONLY thing you get with the A630 is a keyboard, and the keys aren't even that responsive so you aren't saving as much time for texting as you might think. I would strongly recomend anyone thinking about the A6...

I'm surprised you were comparing the T-mobile feature to the cingular features. It's like comparing oranges and apples. If you waited this long, you couldn't wait one or two more weeks. I'm glad you found a phone you're happy with. For me where text messaging and coverage is important the A630 is the phone that I need have especially since 90% of my friends are deaf. I use to use a motorola talkabout pager and stopped when text messaging became available on phone. I'm now using regular phone keypad for text messaging and it's very clumbsy but I needed the coverage since I travel alot. The A630 will be the best of both worlds for me. Web browsing is a plus but not neccessary so I can see if you're after the web browsing and email attac...

The problem is "waiting one or two weeks" for me has turned into months. I'll believe the A630 is out when it's in my hand. Otherwise I'll just be disappointed again and again. I sure hope you are right about it coming out soon.

I've been waiting months to get a new phone and I'm starting to think I should just find another option. I've considered the f9100 as I don't need a camera but I really would prefer bluetooth. I absolutely need a Qwerty Keyboard. As much as I text it's just a pain any other way.

I heard Jan 31 was suppose to be the release last time...of course now that it's Jan 31 everyone is saying another week or two. In a week or two people will be saying just a few days.

Aggrivating.

I never heard that it was supposed to be released today. I heard that it may start arriving at the warehouses today. The latest I heard form various sources that it will be realeased along with 3 other phones sometime before Feb. 8. Since, the a630 has been approved it's coming real soon. I understand the frustration if that's the phone we really want (which it is) but I rather have it tested, all the bugs worked out and in great working condition than to get this phone half working. Imaging the disappointment had this phone been realeased before it was ready. 😕

We will see. Like I said though...I'll believe it when I have it in my hand. I've waited this long I'm thinking maybe I should consider another phone...

look at it this way how often do new high tech items actually launch as promised. 😕 (the LG is based on existing technology not new) 😉

question, are you saying it is possible to get unlimited texting with this phone in addition to a decent phone plan? I also communicate frequently with deaf people. I really want a phone that is text-friendly and cute. It just seems like 1000 text is the most you can get. I'm scared ot rely on the email system cuz I don't want to rely on the phone always "connecting to server" to check emails so I'd rather use (what I believe to be faster and more reliable-although I maybe wrong)texts to communicate...does T-mobile offer unlimited text and if not do you have a recommendation? thanks
