Hi, just thought i'd let everyone know that I talked to a Motorola rep today and she said that the A630 has in fact been delayed for both Cingular and T-Mobile until November. Accoring to her there are no problems or issues with the phone and there are no changes being made to the phone, it was strictly done for strategic purposes and they felt that with their current lineup, November would be a better time to release it. She said that it will however be available in other countries, such as the U.K., at its original planned release date but if you live in the US she advised not purshasing it overseas because there will be certain incaompatabilities with email and other features with US service providers.

if that's the case then the only way to get it early would be to get it from a foreign source. Sadly the problems with overseas phones is that the only GSM band supported both there and here is 1900. Cingular uses primarily 850, and 1900 only in a few areas. T-Mobile on the other hand uses primarily 1900 so the services should (key word) be fine.

My contract's not up with ALLTEL til Dec. so I suppose I can avoid the ETF and wait til it's actually released, whatever the date. Still if there are no changes to be made it seems like a good time to release it for Cingular, considering thier top-tier Moto phone is now in Phase out mode.

I'm not a big web browser when I'm using my phone, so it's not a big deal to me. I just can't get used to using the keypad as a keyboard when I'm texting or entering phone book names. Not to mention I like the form factor.

But you're right, it would be nice to see it with full HTML for those people who do use thier phone for browsing. I'm sure it would help the sales of the model.
