If I buy the Motorola a630 UNLOCKED through the Company What will I have to get extra on the phone or will it come with evryhthing from the t-mobile version and cingular or just T-mobile only. Cause someone was talking about stuff through the air like programs and crap.

it's easier to tell you what you won't see on the phone. From Moto, you will not see any programs that are related to either MEdia Net or T-zone. So those nifty little "shop ringtones" commands and the "my MEdia" sections won't be there. You can, however, have those programs and web settings sent, from tech support, over the air to your new phone. From then it'll look and act like a Cingular/T-Mobile branded phone, without actually having any subsidy locks on it.
Moto MAY also send something in the box that the carriers don't like software or a holster or something like that.

no moto ships with a holster anymore 😢 I really wish they would put something in there like they did with the v60. That thing holds on for DAYS. I know the moto website lists a leather carrying case as "coming soon" but who knows when that'll be. I'm sure someone will make em....IF IT'S EVER RELEASED!!!!

yea. my first phone was a moto v60. i still have it. its so durable, then i switched services and got a nokia. what a mistake. that cheap phone didnt even have a holster made for it. now im trying too get this motorola A630 because moto makes great phones. do you have any additional info on when or if it will be released for cingular.

More than likely for Cingular customers it's looking more towards Dec.10 to Jan. of 2005. But I agree more with Disturbed, try to get it through motorola first (if posible ) if you got the money and can't wait for it to come out, or go through and find an Unlocked t-mobile and take it.

I'm hearing that it should be out before x-mas. It'll be $199.99 on a 2 yr agreement. Gettin it from Moto is a little more of a hassle as far as gettin all the features to work properly, but for those who CAN'T wait it's an option.

Just wondering? Do you think some people would start cutting deals on the phone? Like 250.00 200.00 without a contract? Some would say hell no, and others might say maybe, but it's worth a try.

not without a contract, no. my agent cost sheet here says we have to pay $262.00 to order it. Obviously we wanna make some money off of it if we're gonna order it, so we'll go with the retail price if we're selling it retail. But of course my store doesn't sell retail unless we have a certain # in stock and we don't expect to be able to get all of them on contracts before our next shipment.

Does anyone know what color scheme the phone has been released in? The images of the phone as it was presented during the summer debut have a much darker gray color than the images on the T-mobile and other sites. Is the darker version available or is it just the lighter color for now?

the lighter color is a T-Mobile exclusive. I would imagine that any other a630 that you grab, be it from Moto, Cingular, or any source other than T-Mo will be the darker charcoal color.

Saw this today at www.intelenetwireless.com you can get it for free plus $25 with the usual 1-year contract. You can then have Tmo unlocked later.
