Since mid-summer everyones been saying the phone should be here by September then it was Ocotober then it was "definitely" mid November. It doesn't sound like ANYONE knows when this thing is coming. If anyone happens to read this who really has some sort of concrete idea of when this phone will be released to the public please let me know becasue i feel like i've been wasting my time the last 4 months waiting for this frickin' thing!

Yo i dont know if people read my posts or w.e but i live in illinois and today i got like a packet in the mail from cingular explainging the merger with att and displaying holiday phones. Included with the holiday phones was the sony ericsson z500 and s710, motorola v551 AND A630, as well as the motorola mpx220 and razr v3. When i got this flier in the mail i was highly excited seeing the a630 PROVING that everyone on this site saying it wont be in for cingular is lying. Im not a dumb kid and i know how to get information. So after receiving this brochure i explained it to the cingular reps in addison and the inventory manager said that they have the phone on the mailing list and the phone is expected to be in either the last week of Nov...

The bottom line is that Cingular wouldn't have it on their pricing spreadsheets if they weren't going to release it. It's ON THE PRICING SPREADSHEETS!!!! It's also on the website for cingularextras. go to the ringtones section, when it asks you to choose your phone, choose motorola as the make and the a630 is one of your choices. Why would they support a phone they're not gonna carry?

training documents have just been released to t-mobile usa employees. this includes a product and service guide in addition to a web-based handset simulator. historically, the release of this information occurs no more than 48 hours from time of physical street release.

so, to answer your question: very, very soon.

FYI: no further word on pricing, but general speculation remains "$299 or less". given moto's recent lapse in credibility/reliability, let's hope $149-$199

FYFI: the T-Mobile-branded A630 will feature the silver-gray housing, as previously established and as showcased in the simulator; which blows because with Cingular's alleged abandonment of this handset (who can blame them?) there may be no graphite/gunmetal housing...

i highly doubt cingular will abandon this product... it'd be a stupid move, from a business standpoint, to let go of a shiny new toy that so many people are scrambling for. the kids are excited, and it's almost christmas. if it's a POS, well... maybe then... but i'm thinking it'll be a solid piece of equipment once moto finally gets their act together. okay, i'm hoping.

in consideration of the fact that none of the "high end" moto handsets cingular released since the V400 has survived more than three months without a recall or serious functionality issue, my bet is that Cingular is tired of getting burned.

any smart business would be extra cautious before releasing a new model to their customers given moto's recent troubles.

t-mobile as a practice releases "sister" handsets later than most carriers due to a lengthier and more rigorous field testing.

i held one of these bad boys in my hands 6 months ago. i was tremendously excited by this handset. then. now, i think the boat has left port. perhaps cingular believes the same?

Ok, you say very very soon but there are sooo many other people saying different days, months, times etc. If you look you probably see someone saying next year now. So i don't get it. Its just seems like we're all waiting around to pay an arm and a leg for something that may never come out. I've been in this forum since JUNE!!! Waiting for this phone and every month its "next month this and next month that" and "i talked to a rep and....." but its pretty easy to see that no one here actually knows or will ever know when this thing is coming. So to any reps or cell phone company employees stop playing with our emotions and tell us a REAL date when you KNOW FOR SURE. Not a speculation, becasue its really tired at this point. Anyone else...
