Volume

Does anyone know how to get the ringer volume to go louder? I have it on 7 loud and I can barely hear it in my purse if there is any noise around. Are there free ringer tones that may be louder? 7 doesn't seem to be loud enough at all. I would appreciate any help. VM answers too quickly as well. Can you tell I just got the phone? I love it, but it has a few things I need help with. Ringer volume being # 1. There are not many choices of tones and I think I chose the loudest one on the loudest volume. HELP!
Thanks

Mickeyhead,
I would recommend you read through some of the other posts on this board. I put a link to this before and Brettflan was kind enough to write a tutorial on it. You can check my webpage below for Brettflan's tutorial...

Thanks! It seems very complicated. I gotta figure it out. I saved your web page so I can do it when I have time. I am so not phone savy! Thanks for your time. I may come back for more questions as I go. Thanks again.

Just a little warning... If you're not too phone or technically savvy, then be VERY careful whenever you're hacking into your phone (such as to increase the volume). Doing the wrong thing can screw things up majorly if you don't know what you're doing.

FETNU what setting did you put your outside speakerphone on (1-8?) and have you experienced distortion?

Personally, I just left my speakerphone at 2. A bit louder should be fine, but too loud and I guarantee you'll get some pretty bad distortion; you might also damage your external speaker if it's too loud. I have heard of that happening. I wouldn't suggest raising it above 5, but then I didn't play around too much with stuff other than the earpiece volume myself. Just be careful and don't get too carried away, eh?

I agree with Brettflan... be careful of the levels you increase it to. A lot of it was trial and error. It would come out distorted at first, so I would lower the values and try different things.

I was actually talking about the code in the hex editor using P2k man. Guess I should have been more clear.
