I'm trying to install the pk2 driver, I extracted the files, and checked to see if the drivers showed up in the control planel, but they did not. I must be forgetting one step in the process, or perhaps I need to extract the files to a specific location.

Thanks for the help before FETNU, worked perfectly.

You're talking about P2KMan, right? First, there are two versions of it that use different drivers. The standalone version, which uses P2K.sys, is the better one to use in my opinion. The newest version can be downloaded from "http://anton.tbg.ru/files/p2kman.zip" which is newer than the version on motclub.

I'll copy a bit from my earpiece volume increase guide, specifically about installing P2KMan:

P2KMan doesn't have an installer so you'll need to extract the zip file to somewhere, such as in it's own folder in My Documents.
Now connect the data cable to your phone and then to your computer. It should install drivers and come up with the "Found New Hardware Wizard" for some of them. If the wizard doesn't come up, you will need to go...

Hmm, on second thought maybe you're not talking about P2KMan.

In that case, my suggestion would be to update Motorola Phone Tools to the latest version before trying to connect your phone. The older version of it is a bit dodgy when it comes to setting up the drivers. Once you've installed the version 1.23c available on MOTclub, the very latest version update can be downloaded from Motorola at http://www.bvrp.com/customers/motorola/upgrad e/US/ if you don't mind entering in a little bit of info to get it.

FETNU probably has better familiarity with problems with MPT, so I leave the floor to him. ;-)

Thanks Brett! I used the P2K Drivers when installing MPT, but these were the necessary drivers to get Windows XP to recognize the v400 via USB. Is this what you're talking about?
