Motorola V400

Okay, I have the program installed...But there are like 4 options when considering the modem....which do I choose...There's like 2 that say rockwell 56K modem, and there's some type of DSL modem. The program will run, but if it's working properly should my service provider show up on the phone menu part? Because nothing shows up as far as signal, battery, ect. Also by the clock on the toolbar of my computer there is a little phone with a red screen. I'm guessing that's a bad connection...Also, when I try to add MP3s to my phone none of them show up and the program frequently crashes..I have WIN 98 by the way. HELP!!! Thanks for the help thus far....
