Dropped The V400 In Water

Good Evening,

My daughter dropped her phone in a lake
about 2 months ago...It stayed working up
until yesterday when she dropped it...I brought it to Cingular and they knew immediately that it was dropped in water because of a little white dot that turned
pinkish red...Is there any way of getting
that dot white again...Your help would be truly appreciated...

Sincerely,

Interesting-I also noticed that little tell-tale dot that turns pink/red when wet. I was wiping off some lint from the back of my phone underneath the battery with a slightly damp cloth and the edges of that dot turned red, but with time it eventually turned back to all white. You say it was 2 months ago so I guess you may be out of luck. Insurance seems like your only option.

I hope it's not too late, but this is what you need to do to fix it...

Hey Fetnu,

Thanks for the reply...Unfortunately, it was dropped in the water about 2 months ago...It
just died...I am not sure if it died from the
water or a drop...The thing I was trying to find out is if the dot on the back where the battery is could be turned back to white...Apparently, if the white dot his water, it turns red and that is how the phone company can tell it was submerged in the water...Let me know when you can...Thanks

From what I heard, you are correct. Once water hits this, it turns the dot red and that's how they're able to identify if it's been submerged in water. I've heard people ask if there's ANY way to turn it back white (including using white out on it), or to replace it, but I never heard of a way.

So, my guess would be you're out of luck - Sorry!
