Guide to increase earpiece volume
I typed up a guide on modifying the earpiece volume for a friend of mine and I figured I'd share it with the forum here. Hope it helps somebody out.

P2KMan software for accessing the files on your phone: http://anton.tbg.ru/files/p2kman.zip

P2KMan's normal help files are in Russian so they won't be of use.
Do not connect the data cable yet.
Install HHD Hex Editor first; it's easy to install.

What Operating System did you use? Will it work with Win98 or do I have to have WinXP? I can't get p2kman to recognize my phone using Win98. Its driving me NUTS! Finally there is a solution to the low volume, but p2k just says "phone not connected" but it is!!

For anyone havong problems with the standalone version of P2KMan, there's another version of P2KMan which uses the driver from Motorola PST software. You might try it to see if it works for you.
For that, you'll need to install Motorola PST from here:

And download the other version of P2KMan from here:

Hey Brett! I'm having problems installing this. It recognizes my phone, and I found the /a/gain_table.bin file and I thought I saved it but now I cant find it??? I tried doing a search on my computer for it and I cant find it? I also tried going back into p2kman and now I cant find the file to save it again?? What do I do???? Thanks Brett!!

Sounds like you might have modified the wrong place in the file or something. Do you have a backup?

When it saves to your computer it should be "gain_table.bin" without the /a/ on your computer. When you upload the file back you have to be sure to add in the "/a/" in the upload path box.
Did you keep a backup of the file? If not, no real big deal. Just let me know.
