The V400 is now available at www.Cingular.com , at least in my zip code (60156). $199 with 2 yr contract, $149 after MIR.

The site says its available.... however when you call cingulars customer support... they say its not out and they dont know why they put it on the site already.... stores dont have it either in MD.

Yes, upgraders may be SOL for now. But seeing as it is available for new customers, shouldn't be too long until it's available for upgrades...unless they sell out like T-Mobile did with the V300's.
Just a thought, can you actually start a new contract and port your number over from Cingular to Cingular. Maybe you can go on the website and try to order and try to put your current Cingular number in the page that asks if your porting a number? Maybe worth a shot.

Yes... you can do that.... however... you should make sure you are not paying cancellation fees even though it is the same company.. the contract still abides.

Here in our little town in Arkansas, our Cingular place got these phones in today.....I will be getting me one. I played with the one that the owner of the cingular stores phone and I LOVED IT!!!

Pros :
Good RF signal
Nice internal Screen
easy to find thigs in the menue not like t720, it's much faster.
Cons:
it's heavy (dont mind it though)
camara not that good with taking picture and when sent to an email. did few testing and was not good. could have been better.
dose not come with enough ringtones.
Browser is still locked.
no bluetooth 😢
over all for making and reciving calls it's great.
