Finally A-GPS?

I talked to SprintPCS earlier today and they said that the SPH-A680 will have GPS functions that actually work! This includes E911, driving directions and more.

Sure, you may say, my old SprintPCS phone is GPS "ready." But does it actually work? I don't think so. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong). Certainly, nothing interesting happens on my Sanyo 8100 other than getting a little icon on the screen.

Why does this matter? I'm not all that excited about walking past restaurants that then beep my phone to sell me discount hamburgers. The reason is that I want to switch off the landline and use a mobile phone instead. But I won't do that until 911 knows where I am calling from.

OMG!! you can really git driving directions with a cell phone now????? i mean a cell phone, not one of those mega-expensive PDA hybrid phones. WOAH! that's soo cool. i really hope it's true cuz if it is, this phone had my name all over it! (as well as 50 billion other people, I'm sure)
