Samsung SPH-A680 / VM-A680

question, i can go to like 3gforfree.com and download ringers and screensavers perfectly, but if i try to go to a website to have applications directly sent to my phone it pops up asking if i want to launch the app. i choose yes than it pops up a download handler which directs me to sprint stuff, if i choose no it closes out, how can i get applications sent to my phone like i can ringers and stuff, can i email them to myself on my phone or something? cause i really dont feel like wasting the money to buy a usb cable and stuff, there should be a way to visit these sites and get what i want without using this download handler.?
