Muffled Sound on the A680?

I just got this phone, and everyone I've spoken to says that my voice sounds very muffled. I swaped it for a second, and the same issue is still occuring. I actually gave the phone to a friend and called to see what people meant and my friend's voice sounded muffled on it too. It's really quite aweful, and I'm pretty dissapointed because the phone is so cool. Has anyone else experienced this?

This is TRUE, TRUE, TRUE. I bought 4 of these for family members and every one sounds distorted. The mic is being overdriven. This should be software fixable (auto gain control). Anyone know if it is?
