I received a Kyocera K10 Royale from Virgin Mobile USA in early August when I signed up for their pay-as-you-go service. One of the first things I noticed was the absence of a data cable jack. After receiving a couple of email non-responses to my questions about cables and Kyocera Desktop support, I just spoke to a customer service representative at Kyocera Wireless and finally got the straight story.
Virgin Mobile USA wanted their users to be forced to get ring tones and other downloads only via their service, and specifically asked Kyocera Wireless to modify the K10 Royale so that it does not support cable downloads/uploads from a PC.
