How's everyone doing...
I am currently usins a SE S710a, but it is a bit on the bulky side. I was thinking about buying a used Nokia 6230 around my area. In 2 weeks it will be available. I was just wondering what everyone here thinks about this phone. I've extensively read the reviews of several websites...but I want to hear what you think of this phone, honestly. Benefits, drawbacks, etc. Thanks

When the towers in my neighborhood are working, the phone usually works well.

An occasional SIM error pops up, claiming the phone isn't valid, but a reboot has always cleared that up. Had it happen on a trip, so it's not a local thing.

If a RAZR had expandable memory back when I got my 6230, it would have been a really tough call to still get a 6230. Used and bargain-priced, the 6230 might work out better, but remember the SIM issue...

I would like to purchase one...but after a long and thorough consideration, I've been thinking about getting a smart phone. Perhaps a 6620, or an Audiovox SMT 5600 until the Cingular 2125 drops down in price. Just the sim "issue", as well as others, as discussed through the reviews and discussions from this site & others made me too unsure about this phone ☹️ .

Thanks for the response though...greatly appreciate it.

I'd say this is one of the best fones out there. It has practically everything; BT, MP3 player, camera, etc. The reception is also great although sometimes it breaks up a little while driving. I think that's becuz of Cingular's towers rather than the fone itself. The MP3 player list is not that intuitive but the quality of the sound with the Nokia headset is awsome. Even though its a 2 year old model, it still is leading edge in a lot of ways. Go for it if u can get it at a cheap price!
