Changing text colors on main screen

I just got a 6230 and I like it a lot, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to change the color of the text on the main screen. right now everything is black, which makes it hard, if not impossible to read, against a lot of wallpapers. even my default cingular wallpaper made it hard to read the date and time.
I checked as many options as i could, but all I could find display-wise was changing the color schemes of the sub menus.
any help would be appreciated!

I wish I could help. I just got the phone as well, and find the black font to be useless. Why even allow for wallpaper if you can't read an incoming call, date, time, etc.???

So...anyone...please help. Any ideas?

Also...is it really the case that you can't set different ring tones for different callers? That's a VERY basic function for such a phone to lack.

I decided that for my money I had to have a more usable screen/interface and since I have loved my old SE T610, I opted to shell out the extra money (a lot extra!) and get the SE s710a. It is a lot of phone, but for me, well worth it.
Good luck with figuring it out- I have a feeling it will require a cable hack though..

No phone screen has better contrast with a Wallpaper in the background. Goto SETTINGS/DISPLAY/WALLPAPER and set it to NONE.
Then got to SETTINGS/DISPLAY/COLOR SCHEMES and set it to a darker color that gives you the best contrast against the no-wallpaper white background. Blue is one that worked for me.

with respect to assigning different ringtones. you can assign ringtones to "groups" of callers. and then you can assign people in your addressbook to certain groups. i have 5 groups and then 5 people i've assigned - so each person gets their own group.

luckily for me, i only have 5 people who call on a regular basis so it's been nice.
