Nokia 6230
6230 released!!!
The Nokia 6230 is now released. Nokia's international site no longer says "coming soon." And there are legit auctions up on ebay. Only problem is I might want a version with GSM 850. Hope at&t carries it. Also does at&t support GSM 900/1900?

ATT along with all North American GSM providers support either 850/1900 or just 1900.. 900/.1800 are the frequencies that Europe/rest of the world uses.. I am hearing that cingular will be selling the NA (850) version on the 1st of May.. It will be soon though..

rockon83, it's been stated by multiple people on HoFo, which you seem to view as somewhat of a religious authoritative site, that Cingular will have them on or around May 1st.

The U.S.Nokia site says that the 6230 will have changeable faceplates, but doesn't show them as accessories. The Phonescoop site shows that it will not have changeable faceplates.
The international Nokia site says it will have Express-on covers, and shows them as accessories.
What do you think?

Check out www.howardforums.com, there are actual pics of the 6230 with different covers, incl. the tin grey and red. Personally, I think the silver one is the only one worth looking at. The green one looks like puke.

AT&T Wireless will have it sometime in the near future, check out the link and the band of operation; it mentions 850mhz as well as the 1900 mhz. That's a pretty re-assuring indicator ATTWS will have it available. AT&T has vamped up there cell sites to provide the 850 mhz frequency now across the country so expect it soon.
