phone restricted-enter restriction code

Jul 3, 2007, 11:59 PM
Can someone please help me? My moto razr quit working the other day so I was going to start using my nokia 6230 again. When I put my sim card in it say phone restricted enter restriction code. I and my service provider have tried everything and nothing works. My sim is a 3g. I can put my husband's sim in at it will work fine, his is not a 3g sim. My sister has the same exact phone and a 3g sim and her's works fine. Any suggestions?

I had the exact same problem earlier this year. Your 6230 needs to be unlocked in order to work with a 3G SIM card. I only found that out by doing what you're doing - going to the forums because NOBODY in the hallowed halls of Cingular had a clue !!!

I used the Nokia unlock calculator at, got an unlock code (which I never done before) - entered it - and to my absolute amazement I was back in business with my 6230 again !!!

I've tried upgrading to the Nokia 6126 and returned it. Then I upgraded to the Nokia N75 and returned IT! I STILL haven't found a replacement as good as my 6230 !

Hope this helps ...

You can get restriction code for your Nokia 6230 mobile phone from at reasonable price. Here they ask you to specify the country name, current network provider and IMEI number of your mobile phone. After specifying these details, they deliver an unlock code through email. Then you can unlock it using code by following the instructions given for your mobile phone from that site itself.
