Music player

The track list feature of the music player works only for music files stored in the phone's internal memory. For music files stored in the MMC card, I need to manually move to the next file to play. Is there a solution to this?

Thanks.

I just tried it with my phone and all the music files I had stored on my MMC automatically played right after another from the track list. Not sure if that's what you're talking about, but mine seems to work.

I am talking about the same thing. If I go to my music player- it only shows me the files on the phone's internal memory. I cannot make it browse the MMC card's folders.
Maybe you can tell me the steps involved to get it to show the MMC card folders.
My track list just has 2 options- 1.Refresh all tracks and 2. Change track list.
On selecting 'Change track list', i get a list of one track list 'All tracks'.
I have no idea as to how to create a new one.

Thanks.

I store all of my songs on my 1 GB MMC, and in folders. What you do is create different playlists using Nokia's Audio Manager software. Add the songs (even in folders or subfolders on the MMC) to your playlist and save the playlist to the phone (not to the MMC). That way, you can keep your files tidy and still have multiple playlists for different moods, genres, whatever. I have about 10 now and they work fine. Just takes a moment for the phone to load the track list whenever I switch playlists.

You might want to also check out HowardForums.com. A lot of different solutions to this issue.

Hi garamond,
Does the 6230 support 1G MMC card? Any good places in the US I can buy it from and what is the approximate cost?

Thanks.

It doesn't officially, but many have used them successfully. I got mine at NewEgg.com. I got the Kingmax version, although other brands will work. It ran about $90, which is a LOT cheaper than other 1GB cards I've seen. (HowardForums has a loooooong list on this topic too.) But yeah, got mine rather quickly and it works great.

Only thing is that the phone won't accurately display how much memory the card has... another reason you should definitely invest in a card reader. I got SanDisk's 8-in-1, which works great.

And of course make sure you buy an MMC and not an SD card... those won't work.
