6230 Reception Vs. 6340i

I’m currently considering switching providers. My friend has the Nokia 6340i and gets really good coverage here. I know all phones are not created equal. I know the 6230 has a ton of bells and whistles. I want to know if the 6230 has the same or better reception compared to the 6340i. Technical specs as well as everyday usage is welcome.

Thanks 🙂

The Nokia 6340i is tri-mode, it contains GSM, TDMA and analog( can use many types of towers). The 6230 is just GSM. I would not even consider the 6340i as a phone choice.

Yeah, I did not plan on purchasing the 6340i. I knew the 6340i supported GSM, TDMA, etc. I just wanted to know if I was going to see the same performance out of the 6230 as far as GSM reception. Now another friend has the NOKIA 6600 with T-Mobile. There phone will not work in my home where the 6340i will. I know my friend with the 6340i is with Cingular and the other with the 6600 is with T-Mobile. But, I do know that they are setup to use the same towers. The towers belong to T-Mobile but I’m not sure how that all is setup with Cingular because your still considered in network on the towers here. I assume it’s setup like that because it’s a rural area.
