Security Code Help

by arofreak    Jun 16, 2006, 10:08 PM

I have owned a 9900 for the past two years, but then my hinge broke. I bought another 9900 off of Ebay to replace it (for now)

the previouse owner of the phone has deleated most of the wallpaper and ringtones and I hate the ones he has. I would like to reset the phone to it's factory conditions, but can't because the previous owner has changed the security code and either doesn't remember it or won't tell me. I tried the last 4 digits, 000, 1234, etc. to no avail.

Is there any way to get around this to reset the factory condition or a way to find out the code? The phone works great (I activated my # on it), but the security code is still a problem. Verizon tells me they can't reset it since the code was manually set.

I emailed some of my pictures to myself, but the ringtone is too big to send. I know i could use GIT, but I don't wish to gove Verizon any more $$ - especially since their tech was snotty to me because it wasn't a new phone purchased from them.

I love this phone - any ideas to help me?
