9900 problems
Since Oct I have been through 3 9900 phones because of the problem not being able to delete certain GIN applications. Especially mobile IM. Also, the phone's display sometimes froze up on me if I was talking and I received a message, I would have to end the call to get rid of the white screen. Also, when on speaker phone the person who I was speaking to sounded like the were cutting out on me and vice versa. It's a shame because it was a great phone but Verizon upgraded me free of charge because being I had 3 defective 9900's they gave me the vx8000 as a replacement. The screen on the 8000 is not as clear as the 9900 but the speaker phone is much better on the 8000 and I like the option of being able to record a phone conversation if I have...

There is no programing error in the phone and your experience has been VERY unusual. đ
In fact, the 9900 has one of the BEST maintenance records of all the phones Verizon has sold. There has been VERY FEW returns, so much so that Verizon has even released some of the warranty hold back phones for comsumer purchase. đ
The only know firmware fix that is expected with the 9900 is to allow deleting of the mobile web, which if you had read this forum, you should not have signed up for anyway. It is certainly not worth the time or trouble to even put it on your phone in the first place! âšī¸

Well said, jimspobox. đ There is really not a whole lot wrong with this phone besides not being able to remove IM. I love this phone and it has been working well for me. đ

Yes, I heard its a hit or miss. Some 9900's had no problem deleting mobile IM. I guess I just had bad luck. I still like the speaker phone on the 8000 its so much clearer and being able to record phone conversations is a good feature on the 8000. When you make a call on the 9900 it stores the last 90 dialed #'s and if you call the same # 10 times it registers as 10 calls and on the 8000 it just displays the last time you called that #. I also noticed that calls go through quicker on the 8000 than on the 9900. I loved the 9900 but had my share of problems with it. Still loved the menues and display better on the 9900.

Well, I did hear there was a programming error on the 9900 but it's probebly something most people won't notice anyways.
