LED Light?

I'm just curious what does the flashing red LED light that's just above and to the right of the camera lens signify? When the phone is closed, this LED light will flash at about a rate of once every 5 seconds. When the phone is open, it will blink at once per every 10 seconds.

I called Verizon and they seemed to think it would be green when I was in my local network, and red would signify I was not in my local network. Well, I haven't left my local network area since I've had the phone (for the last 3 months), so I don't think they know what they're talking about.

Does anyone know? Thanks! 🙂

If I remember correctly, on my old Audiovox 9150 that's what the blinking red LED meant. That doesn't seem the case here, though! 😕

I suppose it would be a good thing to submit a Quality Assurance request on this, but here is why you see the light:

If you receive a new Voicemail, TXT, or PIX message and click ignore, the little red led light will flash to indicate that you have a "missed message". In the case of a voicemail, if you retrieve it by dialing 1 + Send or *86 + Send then your message menu never realizes that you acknowledged the message (even though the message waiting indicator goes away).

My fix, click on the Messages Button (down arrow on circular pad). Once you are in the messaging menu, just press End. The little red light stops.

Page 19 of your User Manual says: "LED (green/red): Blinks green for incoming calls; blinks red for notifications (incoming messages and voice mail); lights red while the battery is charging."

Page 78 says: "To activate the camera mode from the standby mode, press or press and hold the side camera key. The LED blinks red."

Page 79 Camera Mode lists a feature as "LED Blink: Select On or Off."

Page 80 says: "To activate the video mode from the standby mode, press and hold . The LED blinks red."
