Hi, I'm a VZW agent, and I can tell you with out a doubt that we have more problems and returns with the 8900 and the 8600 than any other phones. Biggest problem with the 8900 is that it gets hot and over half of them have battery issues. With the 8600 people complain of poor reception and that it's ear-piece is not loud enough. So, do yourselves a favor and forget this phone. I heard a rumor that it has been canned by VZW anyway. Sorry I can't confirm. LG is by far the best phone brand VZW sells followed by Samsung. The LG 7000 seems like a great phone so far, but I waiting for the Mot v710 to give it a shot. Hope it lives up to all the hype. 😎

True! I have had my 8900 replaced twice for eathing batteries and and a third replaced for poor signal strength.

What you fail to mention is Audiovox markets phones from different manufacturers. The Toshebia line of phones has worked out well. Those of us following this forum were hoping for the long over due 9900 manufactured by Toshebia.

True! I think I've seen that the 9000 series is a Toshiba source and the 8000 series is a Hundyai source. I just picked up a used 9500 (aka Toshiba 9500) while waiting for the 710 or 9900, and it is far better than any of the numerous Motorola phones I've had over the last 10 years (which is all I've ever owned save a very old Sony). Reception, voice quality, etc. are all top notch.

I agree the Audiovox CDM-9500 has been a very nice phone and I have enjoyed the mental layout of most of the menus. I do hope Verizon offers this line of phones in the future? I continue to use the 9500 until another Toshebia/Audiovox version shows up.

I have carried the AU 9500 by Toshiba for 2 years now and I love the phone 🙂 . I was thinking about the MO V710 but I now discovered that it will not do what I want it to do via the bluetooth. I have never been a MOTO fan anyway. I am really looking forward to a new phone by Toshiba I hope it works as good as it sounds
