AUDIOVOX 9900 IS SCRAPPED!!

This phone is scrapped. It was Verizon's "intention" to release this phone 2 to 3 months after the release of Sprint's 9950. The phone had been in testing and is still awaiting the final approval. The reason why nobody has heard anything on the release of the phone and the reason why it isn't on infomanager is because it's scrapped and won't be released.

Audiovox completely messed up their reputation with the 8000 series which was made by Cruitel and probably would still be in the business of making cell phones if they would've simply let Toshiba make all the Audiovox models. The Audiovox 8600 and 8900 were pulled from the shelves about 4 times because of problems. Basically the 8000 series lost money while the 9000 series made money yet ...

You said that it "probably isn't going to be released." Do you know this for a fact? If so how? Why wouldn't they say something. I wrote to Audiovox who told me it was waiting Verizon approval but was ready to go. Aldcon says it's going to be released in August. Someone must be in the know.

As mentioned a week ago, no specific reason was given at that time. If I hear, I will let you know. I might be new to the forum but I will not spread info that I do not know as fact and the 9900 not coming was a fact I shared regardless of being called a loser.

Yes I do know this as a fact, just as many other Verizon employees know this as a fact. Verizon isn't going to say anything becuase they never said they were going to carry the phone anyway, that is why they do not speculate it's part of the "Worry Free Guarantee".

Regardless of what Audiovox says, they don't tell Verizon to put a phone out by a certain date. The 9900 hasn't passed any testing wha...

Do you believe there will ever be another Toshiba follow on phone in the 9900 series offered by Verizon? Maybe the 9950? Obviously Audiovox is exciting the cell phone business. 😳 😳

Since VZW said no to a phone then yes Audiovox/Toshiba can move to another carrier to sell their product. Here in the east, we've been told that it isn't coming out. It won't be coming and honestly if it does come it'll be horribly behind in technology like the a610. Also if you've ever played with the a670, it feels a year behind in technology as well.

😁 I just got off the phone with a verizon customer service person. I was checking on new plans for our family and had to ask about the v710. He had no information on it. Soooo, I asked him about the 9900. He said that he did have information on it. He said that they usually have information 2 - 3 weeks prior to having the phone. I asked him if they had the phone and he said,"No, but that doesn't mean we couldn't have it tomorrow."
This is my first time on this forum. I hope this helps anyone who really wants the 9900.

Houdini 37, Many of us have tried to get a official high level press release or statement out of both Audiovox and Verizon, via various E-Mail requests. Todate both have shed no light as to the fate of the 9900.

Indeed, but it would be nice to know that phones that were supposed to be out 3 months ago are actually coming out. Also, how do you know that the information has not been in the computer for a couple of months now? At this point, no one really knows the fate of the 9900. Besides that, the phones are ARE coming out have the same, if not similar features. And I would take the VX7000 over the CDM-9900 right now.
