what flashlight?

i've seen stuff saying this POS has a flashlight...how?

press the camera button, press options, select flash and then select always on. Kind of a weird way to get to it, but that is how it works, then you have to turn it back off the same way.

Not correct. Once you exit the camera mode the setting reverts to default which is no flash.
