"I believe you can take 35 pictures or videos. The phone has dedicated memory for "in camera" pix and vids. This does not go against the internal 6.5MB memory, since it's separate "In Camera/Camcorder memory". However, when you assign a pic to your contacts, it then goes and uses the 6.5MB of memory."
