Has anyone come up with a way to protect the camera lens? Aside from duct tape 🤣
I bought a Verizon leather/plastic case which leaves the lens open. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You put duct tape over your lens?? Sounds to me like your preparing to protect the phone from a hurricane! 🤣

What do you use to protect the lens from the duct tape?

Hahaha, I didn't put duct tape on it. I was joking. No hurricanes predicted for San Diego either, LOL. 😁

However, I am wondering how to protect the lens.

Ok here is my suggestion, go buy another 9900 and put that away and don't open the box, now use your current 9900 and enjoy it and when something bad happens to the lens then throw that one out then open the new box and start using that one. Now, your probably saying to yourself "what is going to protect the lens on this new phone"

Solution...... warp your entire body in plastic warp this way you can enjoy your new phone without having to worry about damaging your lens. This way, you will not only protect your entire phone, but also your body from all the evil elements. I guarantee if you follow this procedure you will have a lifetime of happiness with your 9900 which will probably outlive you anyway. 😁

Hope this helps

The lens is protected. It is actually behind a clear part on the cover.

Thanks for the heads up Milkman, I didn't realize that. I went one step further though, my lens and both LCD screens are protected by PDA screen protectors.

So far my picture and video quality is fine. Since it's exposed more I do expect to have to change the one on the lens more frequently.

PDA screen protectors are a good idea. Thanks, MickeyLover. Are all the brands pretty much the same?

Tom,
I really don't know. All I've ever used is the Fellowes brand.

Hi Milkman,

Are you referring to a clear part of the leather case or a clear covering on the body of the phone?

With the Verizon case that I bought, the camera lens and flash are NOT covered by the clear plastic.

My lens and flash are wide open when the phone is in the OEM case too (all the time). But I don't really care. I probably will use the camera feature a ½ dozen times per year.

I'm referring to the clear covering on the body of the phone. The actual lens of the, uh, lens is under that plastic (window), as is the LED flash.

An idea: buy one of the "not-so-OEM-looking" covers on ebay for a song, and then you wont have to worry about a screen protector mod for the phone (although I'm looking into that myself, but more for the inside screen.
