Dicontinued?

Called 611 and they confirmed the phone is discontinued already...I'm almost at the end of my 15 days....any opinions on whether it is a good idea to try to ride this phone out for 15 years? Held the 6100, small screen, but would probably get the job done.

Thanks.

Sad isn't it! that Verizon can't train their employee's properly to give straight truthful answers across the board!

Every time that I purchase a new car it is discontinued the following year. Notice that you cannot but any new 1938 Chevys nowadays?

It is correct that Audiovox announced a couple of months ago that they are getting out of the cellular market. That doesn't mean that this phone is discontinued at this point. Don't forget, Audiovox doesn't even manufacture it. It is manufactured by Toshiba, who owns about 25% of Audiovox.

Two years from now, when my "New Every Two" kicks back in, I'll get replacements with the latest technology, regardless of brand. So why would I concern myself today if I'm using a great phone with up to date technology, that is fully supported by Verizon and Audiovox?

Who cares??? You think the LG 6000, 7000 are any more not-discontinued since the 8000 is their new up coming line?

The 9900 is a great phone. Discontinued or not. Verizon will replace/repair ANY phone within 1 year IF there is a defect. Cell phone manufacturers have a 3 month turn around for new product so dont expect your phone to be the current model for anything longer then that.

Just get the phone and enjoy it like everyone else. If not, go buy a different phone.

OK everybody. Return all of your 9900's immediately. Let's all wait for the upcoming model #8,940,990,010,000. Its feature set will probably meet or exceed the 8940, the 9900 and all of the other cellphones on the market today, regardless of manufacturer or carrier.
