Anyway to turn off the 'off/on' ringtone?
Whenever I turn this phone on or off it makes a very loud music jingle. The volume to control this is the same as the ringer volume.
The problem is I want to keep the ringer volume loud so I don't miss a call but I don't want to make so much noise every time I turn on the phone to make a call on the train.
They had no answer at Verizon but maybe someone here knows a way to turn it off - it's quite annoying. Thanks.

Prior to turning off the phone, put it on vibrate. After turning it back on, take it off of vibrate. It is simple and only takes a push of one button to do it.
Why do you want to turn the phone off anyway? What is the advantage of turning it off and you risk missing calls? How often do you really turn it off?

I usually know when I'm going to recieve calls so I leave the phone on at those times - otherwise I leave it off to save the battery. When I get on the train I like to turn on my phone and make a call discreetly - I guess from now on I'll just turn it on before I get on.
I think I had the ringer volume too high to begin with. With my old phone you had to crank the ringer volume all the way up to make sure you heard a call, with this phone half way is sufficient (I just got this phone).
Still would be nice to be able to turn off that power-up jingle without fidling with the buttons everytime . . . .
