😁 Finally you Verizon Wireless babies 😢 get a phone that is halfway decent. Maybe now you will stop looking at SprintPCS phones and crying that Verizon is in the stone age. If you want a nice phone so bad then stop crying and go to Sprint.

We would if Sprint had half as good coverage. Thats the main reason for so many VZW customers is. Sprint is allright around the larger cities, but once you step 100 miles away, you have drop calls galore, and no reception.

CDMA (and later WCDMA) also has better security encryption, thats why we can offer long distance calls to more countries than any other carrier. Also, CDMA requires fewer towers to service the same number of customers. Thats why we can have only about 1.5 as many towers as cinguler and over 3 times as many customers. It's not us who are in the stoneage, it the rest of the world. GSM is a technology that was developed during WWII for encrypted radio communication. The only reason other companies/countries haven't converted to CDMA is because of the cost required to do so.

If you knew as much as you think you knew about cellular service you would know that the next step after edge for gsm carriers is WCDMA, which means that all those gsm and edge phones when they go to total 3G will have to be replaced, with phones that are just two steps above 1x evdo, verizon definetly has the edge, it will cost all the GSM carriers much more money to advance there networks to WCDMA than it will Verizon or any other CDMA carrier.
